Community  Rehabilitation
Kinesiologist

Full time Kinesiologist

Campbell River, BC
Physio on the Run
Physio on the Run is intentionally designed around sustainable, real-world care. We care deeply about good clinical work, but we also believe meaningful care should not depend on burnout, chaos, or constant heroics.

Our team works across homes, communities, outreach settings, long-term care, and clinic environments throughout the North Island, supporting people through neurological, orthopedic, mobility, and functional rehabilitation.

We’re looking for a Kinesiologist who enjoys working closely with people, values thoughtful care, and wants to be part of a collaborative team that cares deeply about meaningful, sustainable rehabilitation.

About the Role

One day might involve helping a client regain mobility after surgery in their home. Another could involve gym-based rehabilitation on Quadra Island or working alongside physiotherapists in clinic at Alder Medical. Other days may include supporting outreach services in remote communities or helping neurological and orthopedic clients build confidence back into daily life.
Some clinicians enjoy variety and movement between environments. Others prefer more structure and consistency. We build sustainable roles around clinician strengths and interests while maintaining consistency for clients and the team.

Current work available

  • Home visit rehabilitation across Campbell River, Courtenay, and Comox
  • Clinic-based kinesiology at Alder Medical
  • Neurological rehabilitation
  • Orthopedic and post-surgical rehabilitation
  • Long-term care and mobility support
  • Functional exercise therapy and return-to-activity programming
  • Community and outreach rehabilitation services
  • Development of gym-based rehabilitation programming

What Your First Months Look Like

  • Start by shadowing seasoned clinicians
  • Begin practicing with a smaller, supported caseload
  • Work closely alongside physiotherapists and senior team members
  • Build confidence before taking on more
  • Develop a schedule that is matches your priorities, and is sustainable and consistent over time
  • Gradually shape the role toward the areas of work you enjoy most

You won’t be left to figure things out on your own. Mentorship, collaboration, and support are built into how we work.

This role can work very well for newer graduates looking to build broad real-world rehabilitation experience within a supportive team environment.

We prioritize hires who are:

  • Adaptable
  • Thoughtful
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Reliable
  • Confident in ability to ask questions and escalate concerns
  • Enjoys dynamic environments
  • Interested in long-term growth and development
  • Motivated by meaningful work and strong client relationships

We value flexibility, reliability, and communication because it helps the whole team function well together.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology (or equivalent)
  • Registered with BCAK
  • Valid BC driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the role

Schedule & Compensation

  • Compensation grows with sustained development, independence, reliability, and broader contribution over time
  • Paid vacation and sick time
  • Paid stat holidays
  • Professional development support
  • Mileage compensation for community travel

Most new graduates or emerging clinicians typically start toward the lower end of the range with mentorship, support, and a gradually developing caseload.

Higher compensation reflects increasing independence, outreach/community capability, ability to manage more complex rehabilitation environments, and broader contribution to the team over time.

Life on the North Island

Many of our team chose Vancouver Island because they wanted a different pace of life than larger urban centres can offer.

Living here means shorter commutes, strong community connection, and easy access to hiking, mountain biking, paddling, fishing, skiing, surfing, and everything else the Island is known for.

We believe meaningful rehabilitation work should be able to coexist with a healthy, sustainable life outside of work. Great care requires both empathy and boundaries — giving clinicians the space to rest, recharge, and continue bringing curiosity, creativity, and genuine care into their work over time. Strong systems and team support help protect that.
